PREGNANCY MASSAGE 30, 60, 75 and 90 minute sessions
I received a peri-natal massage certification from Niara Healing Arts. Since this certification, my massage practice has evolved to specialize in Pregnancy Massage. I have a special pre-natal massage table allowing the woman to lay safely and comfortably in the face down position. Together, we work in the position most comfortable for the woman and know that at any moment the position may need to change. Each pre-natal massage remains flexible and allows for focus on a target area of discomfort while also attending to the entire body. Any stress the woman is experiencing, the baby is as well. Therefore, both mental and physical stress relief are essential during this quickly changing time in a woman’s body.

DEEP TISSUE AND SPORTS MASSAGE 30, 60, 75 and 90 minute sessions
I studied deep tissue massage at the Swedish Institute in New York. I also taught Deep Tissue at the Montana School of Massage. Deep tissue massage works with the muscle tissue as well as the fascia to create space freeing up joints to increase range of motion and fluidity throughout the body. This can be applied to a specific area of stress due to overuse or injury as well as the entire body. Deep tissue does not have to be painful. It is very deliberate and purposeful. During each deep tissue session I facilitate the body’s healing process to free the joints, reduce scar tissue and soften fascia.
THAI MASSAGE 60, 75 and 90 minute sessions
I travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to study Thai Massage at the International Training Massage School (ITM). The founder and head teacher of the school, Chongkol Setthakorn, has been teaching people the ancient art of Thai massage for over twenty years. Thai Massage is very different from what we think of here in America as “massage”. You remain in comfortable, loose clothing while laying on a comfortable mat or thin futon on the floor. The practitioner stretches and manipulates you in various positions to balance and relieve tension. It is very meditative and looks and feel like a “dance” or choreography between client and therapist. This interaction between client and therapist in Thai massage really resonated with me. Chongkol described it as “Yoga for lazy people” which is a wonderful and perfect description of the work.
